How it works

One community, two ways in

Everyone belongs to the whole community and to exactly one mentoring track.

The Power Hour

Everyone · every week

A weekly one-hour session for the whole community: a lesson, questions and time to connect. Everything else sits on top of it.

Circuits

Group mentoring

A small pod of about six Circuit Members, guided by one mentor, the Circuit Lead. A mentor and a built-in squad.

45–60 minutes, every other week: about six sessions.

Power Pairs

1:1 mentoring

One mentor, one mentee, matched on goals, career stage and interests. The pair sets its own rhythm.

30–45 minutes, every other week: about six conversations.

Which track am I in?

It depends on your mentoring experience, not your seniority.

You’ll be placed in a Circuit if…

You are new to Women in Power or to mentoring. Completing a Circuit lets you apply for Power Pairs next cohort.

You’ll be offered Power Pairs if…

You have done a cohort with us, or an established mentoring program elsewhere, and are ready to go deep with one mentor.

Every week

The Power Hour

Sixty minutes: a real lesson, time for questions, and time to meet people.

  1. 0:00 – 0:05
    Welcome
    Housekeeping, wins of the week
  2. 0:05 – 0:30
    Lesson
That week’s topic, from a guest, sponsor or member
  3. 0:30 – 0:45
    Q&A
Open floor, live or in chat
  4. 0:45 – 1:00
    Connect Round
Breakouts, speed-connects, or time with your Circuit or Pair

The time moves on purpose

Sessions rotate between five slots, 8 AM to 4 PM Central, so nobody always misses it live. Every session is recorded and posted within 24 hours; watching within 48 counts as being there.

The twelve weeks

Three months, three arcs

Weeks 1–4

Foundations

Get grounded: confidence, community, and Power Platform and AI tools as a career map.

Weeks 5–9

Visibility & Voice

Get seen: presenting, data storytelling, negotiation, Copilot, and the Showcase.

Weeks 10–12

Launch & Career Momentum

Get moving: resumes, interviews, and a plan for what comes next.

The Power Hour moved to Thursdays

From week 3 the weekly session is on a Thursday, not a Wednesday. Times still rotate week to week, so check the row you are planning for, and replace any recurring invite you set up in September.

Power Hours are on Thursdays. Times are Central (Eastern +1 hour, Pacific −2). Suggested reads are optional.

What you’ll work on

The three Growth Currents

Most goals fall into one of three areas. You pick a lead in Week 1; most people touch all three.

Power Skills

What makes people listen: speaking, presence, negotiation, hard conversations, personal branding.

Platform Power

Technical range in Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot Studio and AI, plus the certifications and portfolio to prove it.

Current Connections

The network and visibility that get you into the room before the job is even posted.

Your journey, step by step

What the twelve weeks look like for you

Pick your track and role, then step through the milestones. They sit on top of the weekly Power Hour.

Before Week 1

Sign up and placement

Choose a track and a role above to walk through your twelve weeks.

Circuits Your journey as a Circuit Member

  1. Before Week 1
    Sign up and placement

The sign-up asks what you want from this quarter: confidence, a technical skill, or a job move. New to Women in Power or mentoring? You’ll join a Circuit.

    10 min
  2. Session 1 · Week 1
    Round-robin goal-setting

Name your lead Growth Current and a one-sentence goal, out loud, to your Circuit.

    45–60 min
  3. Sessions 2–3 · ≈ Weeks 3 & 5
    Shared activities

A lightning-talk round, a group Copilot Studio build, or a network round robin. Bring one real question each time.

    2 × 45–60 min
  4. Session 4 · ≈ Weeks 6–7
    Mid-point pulse

Revisit your goal with the group. Shifting it is normal. There’s a short Week 6 pulse check too.

    45–60 min
  5. Session 5 · ≈ Week 9
    Build toward something to show

Another shared activity, aimed at every member having something to show by Week 12.

    45–60 min
  6. Session 6 · ≈ Week 11
    Demo day

Show your Circuit one thing you built or one way you grew: your dry run before the wider community.

    45–60 min
  7. Week 9 or Week 12
    Present, and graduate

Take a Showcase slot or the Graduation stage for about five minutes, on a topic you choose, then submit your End-of-Cohort Assessment. That’s your path to Power Pairs.

    ~5 min + assessment

Circuits Your journey as a Circuit Lead

  1. Before Week 1
    Say yes

Six one-hour sessions, every other week. A short Circuit Lead Kit for each keeps prep under fifteen minutes.

    10 min
  2. Session 1 · Week 1
    Run the goal-setting round

Each member names her lead Growth Current and one goal out loud. Peer accountability starts here.

    45–60 min
  3. Sessions 2–3 · ≈ Weeks 3 & 5
    Facilitate, don’t lecture

Pick one shared activity for the group’s most common Current. The group is the resource: ask “who here has done this before?” Check-in, one activity, one commitment each.

    2 × 45–60 min
  4. Session 4 · ≈ Weeks 6–7
    Mid-point pulse

Check each member’s goal from Session 1 and adjust out loud where needed.

    45–60 min
  5. Session 5 · ≈ Week 9
    Build toward demo day

Another shared activity, aimed at every member having something to show by Week 12.

    45–60 min
  6. Session 6 · ≈ Week 11
    Host demo day

Each member shows one thing she built or one way she grew, then names her next goal. Your job: make it feel safe.

    45–60 min
  7. Week 12
    Reflect, and be recognized

Write a short reflection on each member’s growth (part of her path to Power Pairs) and name one strength to highlight at Graduation, where Circuit Leads are recognized too.

    20 min

Power Pairs Your journey as a mentee

  1. Before Week 1
    Matched with your mentor

Matching uses your goals, career stage and interests from the intake form.

    10 min
  2. Conversation 1 · Week 1
    Kickoff

Set one confidence goal and one skill goal, and schedule the whole quarter now. Meeting a few days after the Power Hour lets you unpack that week’s lesson.

    30–45 min
  3. Conversations 2–4 · ≈ Weeks 3–5
    Build

Work your lead Growth Current. Drive the agenda, bring something real, and follow through between conversations.

    3 × 30–45 min
  4. Conversation 5 · Week 6
    Mid-point pulse

Is the goal still right? Changing it is fine. A short survey helps catch a mismatch early.

    30–45 min
  5. Week 9 · optional
    Community Showcase

An open-mic Power Hour for a project, a win or a hard-won lesson. Got something to show? Take a slot.

    ~5 min
  6. Conversation 6 · Week 12
    Reflection and Graduation

Close the loop with your mentor: what changed, what’s next, and whether to keep going. At Graduation, share your 90-day growth story and action plan.

    30–45 min

Power Pairs Your journey as a mentor

  1. Before Week 1
    Matched with your mentee

Six 30–45 minute conversations, every other week. You’ll get a one-page Power Pair Guide with a goal worksheet and discussion starters.

    10 min
  2. Conversation 1 · Week 1
    The goal-setting conversation

Get past the polite answer: “twelve weeks from now, what’s different?” Leave with one written sentence: her lead Current and one achievable goal.

    30–45 min
  3. Conversations 2–4 · ≈ Weeks 3–5
    Build

Work her lead Current. Ask more than you tell, be honest over flattering, and leave her one concrete next step.

    3 × 30–45 min
  4. Conversation 5 · Week 6
    Mid-point pulse

Is the goal still right? Adjust it out loud if not.

    30–45 min
  5. Conversation 6 · Week 12
    Reflection

What changed, what’s next, and whether you both want to keep going past the formal quarter.

    30–45 min
  6. Week 12
    Graduation

Name one strength to highlight for your mentee. Mentors are recognized at Graduation too.

Being seen is half of Power Skills

Every Circuit Member presents once

Take a slot at the Community Showcase (Week 9) or Graduation (Week 12) on a topic you choose: something you built, a lesson, or a win. It’s not a test; it’s a supportive room to practice being seen.

About five minutes

Short and specific beats long and general. Pick something you’re proud of.

Dry run first

Your Circuit’s Session 6 demo day exists exactly for this.

Name the FOPO

Fear of other people’s opinions is normal. Use the 90-second breathing routine from Week 5, and do it anyway.

What comes out of it

A plan, not a certificate in a folder

What you walk away with

  • A lead Growth Current and a goal you actually worked
  • Something built or practiced live: an agent, a dashboard, a pitch
  • A Microsoft Learn milestone toward your next certification
  • Your Circuit-mates or mentor, plus new connections from the Power Hour
  • A personal action plan, and a clear answer to “what’s next?”

Your path to Power Pairs

Finish a full Circuit to apply for Power Pairs next cohort:

  1. Show up: the Power Hour and your Circuit sessions, live or on the recording within 48 hours.
  2. Present: one Showcase slot or the Graduation stage.
  3. Reflect: submit the End-of-Cohort Assessment.
  4. Get a nod: your Circuit Lead completes her reflection on your growth.

What we ask

The commitment, in plain words

Everyone signs a short Commitment Agreement at kickoff. Not a contract, just shared expectations.

Everyone

  • Attend the Power Hour live, or catch the recording within 48 hours
  • Show up prepared, and give notice if you need to reschedule
  • Keep what’s shared confidential
  • Bring one real goal or question each time
  • Give honest feedback in Weeks 6 and 12

Mentors & Circuit Leads

  • Be reliable, within the time you said you could give
  • Be honest over flattering
  • Make introductions from your network when they help
  • Keep it scoped: a guide and a connector, not a therapist or a hiring manager

Mentees & Circuit Members

  • Drive the agenda instead of waiting to be asked
  • Do the follow-through between conversations
  • Respect your mentor’s time and the boundaries you agree

Questions

Things people ask

Can I choose Power Pairs instead of a Circuit?

Placement depends on mentoring experience, not preference. New to Women in Power or mentoring? You start in a Circuit, and finishing it makes you eligible for Power Pairs next cohort.

What if I can’t make the Power Hour live?

Times rotate across five slots, and every session is posted within 24 hours. Watching within 48 hours counts as attending.

What if I miss a Circuit session or a Power Pair conversation?

Move it, don’t cancel it, and give notice. Six sessions is a floor; you can meet more often.

Do I really have to present?

Circuit Members, yes: once, for about five minutes, at the Showcase or Graduation, after a dry run at demo day. Power Pair mentees are welcome to take a Showcase slot too.

I signed up but I’m not getting the emails.

Check junk first, then add the senders listed in your confirmation email to your contacts.

What happens after 10 December?

Circuit graduates can apply for Power Pairs. Anyone can come back as a mentor or Circuit Lead; the End-of-Cohort Assessment asks. Most of our mentors came through the program.
