What we do
AMPLIFY: twelve weeks, two ways in
Mentoring runs in twelve-week cohorts, kickoff to Graduation, so everyone moves through together. The program is AMPLIFY, built around what members ask for most: confidence and network.
Everyone meets weekly at the Power Hour: a lesson, questions and time to connect. Everyone also joins one track: Circuits, a small group with one mentor, for women new to the program; or Power Pairs, one-to-one, for women with mentoring experience.
What we’ve done so far
Five cohorts in
Five cohorts since 2024, every one run by volunteers around full-time jobs.
Each cohort changed based on what the last one told us. That is what we are proudest of: the feedback form actually changes the program.
Four things five cohorts taught us
Tell people what they signed up for
The top complaint was not knowing what sessions would cover. Now topics are published a week ahead and labeled foundational or advanced.
Small rooms beat big calls
Breakout rooms were always the most valued part; long plenaries the least. So the framing got shorter and the breakouts longer.
Seniority is not the same as being new
Many women arrive with twenty years of experience but are new to mentoring. Your track depends on mentoring experience, not seniority.
Everyone has to speak, once
A few women did most of the talking. Now every Circuit Member presents once, at the Week 9 Showcase or Graduation, after a rehearsal at demo day. Five minutes counts.
The two tracks
Where you start depends on where you’ve been
Not on how senior you are. Placement is about mentoring experience.
Group mentoring
For women new to Women in Power, or new to mentoring.
- A small pod of about six Circuit Members, with one Circuit Lead
- 45–60 minutes every other week, about six sessions
- Goal-setting, shared activities, and a demo day to finish
- Present once, at the Showcase or at Graduation
- Your Circuit-mates are often the relationships that last longest
Completing a Circuit is what lets you apply for Power Pairs next cohort.
1:1 mentoring
For Circuit graduates, returning members, and women with other formal mentoring experience.
- Matched with one mentor on goals, career stage and interests
- 30–45 minutes every other week, about six conversations
- Kickoff, a Week 6 pulse, and a Week 12 reflection
- Room for the conversations too personal for a group
- Keep going past the quarter if you both want to
Alumni can come back as mentors, Circuit Leads or committee volunteers.

The deal
What we give, what we ask
What you get
- A structured twelve weeks with a start and an end
- A mentor, or a room full of them
- A skills self-assessment at the start and the end, so you can see the shift
- A personal action plan, and public recognition at Graduation
- A network that outlasts the cohort
What we ask
- About ninety minutes a week: the Power Hour, plus your track every other week
- Turn up, or tell your mentor you can’t
- Mentees own the scheduling and the agenda
- Two short feedback forms, mid-point and final
- In a Circuit, present once. Five minutes counts.
Getting in
How to join
- Watch for the interest form. It opens before each cohort and is announced on LinkedIn. One form covers mentors, mentees and both tracks.
- Tell us what you are after. Networking, hard skills or soft skills: it shapes where we steer you.
- Save the senders. Add the addresses in your confirmation email to your contacts, or program mail lands in junk.
- Come to the first Power Hour. You will know exactly what you signed up for.
Questions
Before you ask
Do I have to work at Microsoft?
No. It is open to women working with Power Platform and AI tools, wherever they work.
I have fifteen years of experience. Is a Circuit going to be too basic?
A Circuit is about the peer network and the habit of being seen, which senior women need too. If you have done an established mentoring program elsewhere, you may go straight to Power Pairs.
Can I be a mentor and a mentee?
Yes, and plenty do. Flag both on the interest form.
I’m outside the Americas. Do the times work?
Power Hour times rotate between five slots, 8 AM to 4 PM Central, and every session is recorded. Power Pairs are matched with time zone in mind.
Is there a fee?
No. Taking part costs nothing but your time, about ninety minutes a week.
